Annyeong Haseyo! Hi guys, this is just a simple review of some Korean Restaurants here in Davao City that we have tried so far. As you may know, we are a Korean food addict. We love Korean food, it’s healthy and delicious. Hope this simple review will help you in your next food adventure.
Gui-Gui Grill
I always love this place, nothing fancy, just a simple typical Korean restaurant. What is great about this restaurant is that it is cheaper compared to other Korean restaurants without compromising the taste of course. It is the best place if your craving for Korean food but on a budget. I and my friends love to dine here after work. For me, their Jjampong and Hamuel Pajeon (seafood pancake) is really good! Mashisseoyo! This restaurant never fails to satisfy our cravings for Korean food!

Korea Town
One thing I noticed about this restaurant is that a lot of Koreans dine here. In fact, our Korean friend was the one who recommended this restaurant to us. The owner is friendly. They have great service and attentive staff. The place is clean and the price is reasonable. The food is good and satisfying. My personal favorites are Jjampong and Ojingeo-Bokkeum (spicy stir-fried squid). Here are my top picks in this restaurant.
Banchans (side dish) - FREE!
Who doesn’t like free?
Well, everybody loves free that is why I love this restaurant because they serve six to eight banchans (side dishes) compared to other Korean restaurants.
Jjampong seafood (Php350)
This is one of my favorites and will always be on our list every time we eat in Korea Town. The soup is hot and spicy yet savory and satisfying. It’s something you will always crave especially during cold and rainy days. Of course, you can always adjust the level of spiciness according to your tolerance, just don’t forget to tell the waiter upon ordering.
Kimbap ( Php250)
A Korean version of sushi. Rice rolls with vegetable goodies, egg and meat as filling, cut into bite size. I recommend this one if you’re in a diet or controlling your rice intake. Best eaten with kimchi.
Jjajangmyeon (Php350)
This Chinese-Korean noodle dish topped with thick black bean paste sauce with diced pork and vegetables and runny egg is a winner! It looks weird because of the color (looks like black spaghetti) but definitely a must-try. The taste is unique, but it’s good.
Ojingeo-bokkeum (spicy stir-fried squid)
If you love squid and at the same time sweet and spicy in your table, this is for you. One of my all-time favorite Korean food. I haven’t known this dish until our Korean friends introduced this to us. The spiciness and a little touch of sweetness mixed with rice is a BOOM!
PS: photo was taken after it was mixed with rice.

NoonSaram Korean Cafe
This cafe serves Korean dish just like any other Korean cafe, but the highlight of this cafe is their bingsoo! Hey, all K-drama lovers out there the Korean dessert you’ve seen in dramas are now within your reach - yes you heard it right - you read it right rather hehehe.. They have so many flavors to choose from and how I wish I would be able to try them all! Another great thing is the serving is huge, good for sharing!
Cheese Bingsoo (S - Php168, M - Php248, L - Php398)
My top of the list when talking about bingsoo in Noon Saram. It is made with fresh milk snowflakes, cheesecake, cream cheese spread with cheese powder and topped with vanilla ice cream and sliced almonds. This is so commendable, I kid you not! The sweetness is just so natural. Best dessert ever! So refreshing!
Mango bingsoo (S - Php148, M - Php198, L - Php 148 )
Eye-catching bingsoo you shouldn’t miss. As glistening as it tastes. It is made with fresh milk snowflakes, fresh mango, topped with mango ice cream or whip cream and almonds.
Blueberry Banana Bingsoo (S - Php148, M - Php248, L - Php398)
For its nice design, all I want is to look at it until it melts. This bingsoo is worth the Instagram post. It is made with fresh milk snowflakes, sweet blueberries with banana, topped with whip cream and cherry. Who would have thought that blueberry and banana can be in one dessert?
Choco Bingsoo (S - Php148, M - Php198, L - Php 148 )
Chocolate is most common on a dessert. Thus, you shouldn’t also miss trying this choco bingsoo. I highly recommend this for those chocolate lovers out there. It made with fresh milk snowflakes; choco cake spread with 100% cocoa powder topped with whip cream and sweet chocolate syrup.

This is a very simple Korean restaurant and the ambiance is like you’re just eating at home. The service is good and owner is really nice. The food is also good and the price is affordable. This is something you should definitely add to your list in your next Korean restaurant hunt.
