Cebu is one of the most touristy cities in the Philippines. It offers various attractions from daily life to
nightlife, historical to modern buildings, beaches to waterfalls; you name it, Cebu has it all. You will
never get bored when you take your vacation in this City.
Because of our limited time, we decided to book our transportation beforehand. Good thing that my
officemate has a friend who resides in Cebu and whose business is travel and tour. Our trip is good for
one day, eight hours with the rate of Php3,000. The real price is Php3500 (nakatawad kami). It includes
ten attractions, namely; Sto. NiƱo Church, Magellan’s Cross, Fort San Pedro, Yap San Diego Ancestral,
House of Lechon (lunch), Sirao Flower Farm, Tops Lookout, Temple of Leah, Taoist Temple and La vie
Parisienne (house of wine). The entrance fee of every destination is not included in the package so
better to have extra money with you. Note that if you exceed eight hours, they will charge you with
Php350 per hour.
Without further ado, join us as we start our tourist spot hopping in the City of Cebu!
After our driver fetched us at the airport, and we headed directly to Sirao Garden. It’s quite a long drive
going to this garden. We arrived early in the morning, which means there is still less tourists and we
have all the place to enjoy.
By the way, the place has two areas called the Sirao Garden – Little Amsterdam, and the other is Sirao
Flower Garden, the one with the famous instagrammable big hands. Sirao is a farm of flowers, so if you
love flowers, I bet you will get to enjoy every corner of the place. I am just not sure if they sold some of
their flowers. The entrance fee of Sirao Garden – Little Amsterdam is worth Php60, and for Sirao Flower
Garden is Php100.
When you visit Cebu, it wouldn’t be complete if you did not visit the well-known, picturesque temple of
Adarna’s family. The story behind this Roman-Style Temple is that Teoderico Soriano Adarna, the
grandfather of famous Kapamilya actress Ellen Adarna built this as a symbol of his love for his wife, Leah.
The entrance fee is worth Php50.
Another temple that we visited was built by the Chinese community last 1972 is called the Taoist
Temple. You can pray inside the temple as long as you don’t take a picture or video inside. They prohibit
taking pictures of whatever inside. And please refrain from making noise because this is a solemn place.
For our lunch, we ate at the House of Lechon. I’ve noticed that this is a well-known restaurant in Cebu
since most of the travel and tour companies bring their guests there. They got a nice, cozy, and clean
place. Their best seller is lechon, but we did not try it instead, we order pinakbet, sinigang, and baked
scallop with cheese.
Another spot that we visited is the Fort San Pedro, a military defense structure during Spanish era built
under the command of Miguel Lopez de Legazpi. We only took a photo outside since it was very hot and
we’re already tired at the same time. Hehe.
It was still two o’clock in the afternoon but we decided to just pass by the Heritage Monument of Cebu
and the Ancestral House of Yap San Diego. The scorching heat of the sun drained out our energy and
makes us felt so sleepy at the same time, for we don’t get enough sleep at the airport.
There are still two destinations listed in our itinerary that we haven’t visited; these are the Tops Lookout
and La vie Parisienne (house of wine).
